The first three years of Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine consist of lecture boards, while the fourth and fifth years consist of clinical internships. While the first two years are oriented towards normal structure and function, the third year includes system-based learning of abnormal structure and function. During the clinical periods, they are expected to increase their knowledge and skills by using what they have learned in basic sciences during the internships and to apply the competence areas they have learned during the candidacy period. Community Support Projects (CSP) in Term I, Special Study Modules (SOM) in Term II, Professional Foreign Language (Article Hour) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sessions in Term II are compulsory and Voluntary Research Block in Term III is elective.
